The Indiana Debate Commission says Republican U.S. Senate candidates Marlin Stutzman and Todd Young have agreed to participate in a televised debate April 18.

The debate between the two congressmen was announced Friday. A live feed will be available to television stations statewide.

The 7 p.m. Eastern Daylight time will be moderated by Elizabeth Bennion, a professor of political science at Indiana University South Bend.

Stutzman, who represents the northeast corner of the state and Young, of Bloomington, both were first elected to Congress in 2010. The Republican victor in the May 3rd primary will face former Democratic U.S. Representative Baron Hill in next November’s general election.

The seat is being vacated by retiring Republican Senator Dan Coats.
