Nola Ruth McKee

 

 
Nola Ruth McKee, 98, of Odon, passed away peacefully in Corydon, IN surrounded by loved ones on March 27, 2016. She was born in Martin County, Indiana on June 17, 1917 to Jabish F. and Golda A. (Plummer) Myers. Ruth was married to Thurman L. McKee.
Ruth was a member of the Prairie Chapel Methodist Church. She was a librarian at the Odon Winkelpleck Library. Ruth enjoyed fishing, bowling, reading and spending time with her family.  Her greatest treasures in life were her children and generations of grandchildren.
Family members surviving Ruth are: one daughter, Eva Mae Green of Grand Prairie, TX; one son, Monte L. (Kim) McKee of Corydon; five grandchildren, Rodney (Isibelle) DeBaun and Denise (Craig) Holland, both of Grand Prairie, TX, Monette (Richard) Stransom of Portishead, UK, Ryan (Amanda) McKee, of Mount Vernon, IL, Audria (Aaron) Jewell of Lanesville, IN; thirteen great-grandchildren, Heath (Jennifer) DeBaun and Chase (Julia) DeBaun, both of Grand Prairie, TX, Eleanor, Ian, and Ashley Stransom, all of Portishead, UK, Tanner Sanders and Levi Clement, both of Grand Prairie, TX, Landon, Hayden, and Delaney McKee, Mount Vernon, IL and Braylon, Bryson, and Brennan Jewell, all of Lanesville, IN; four great-great-grandchildren, Luke, Emma, and John DeBaun and Grayson Sanders, all of Grand Prairie, TX; one sister, Alice A. (Wayne) Anderson of Sandborn.
Ruth was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Thurman L. McKee; a son, Dale Ray Benham; a brother, Max Myers; sister, Mable Yagle; son-in-law, Bob Green and longtime companion, Charles Fox.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Bryan Sanders officiating. Ruth will be laid to rest in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon.
 
Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 29 and from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at 11:00 AM on Wednesday.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Ruth’s memory to Parkview Village in Odon. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
