Driver jailed for driving 114 mph on I69

 

 

-A Virginia man was jailed Monday on reckless driving charges after traveling 44 miles an hour over the speed limit.  State Police report trooper Ross Johnson was patrolling I69 north of the Washington exit at 5:41 last evening.  He clocked a blue ’07 Mazda SUV going south at 114 miles an hour in the 70 mile an hour zone.  Johnson turned round and radioed southbound trooper T.J. Henning who also saw the southbound Mazda going 85 miles an hour when he was passed in his fully marked patrol car.    The car was stopped by both troopers.  19-year-old Gregory A. Kellman Junior of Newport News, Virginia was charged with reckless driving and taken to the Daviess County Security Center. Bond was posted.

In other local arrests…..

-Washington City Police arrested 24-year-old Kevin S. Thomas of Washington on Monday.  He’s charged with domestic battery. Bond was posted.

– Washington City Police arrested a Knox County man for possession of syringe, paraphernalia, and possession of controlled substances on Monday. 26-year-old Jay W. Atkins of Bruceville was being held on a $2500 bond.

-Conservation officers conducted an overnight investigation and arrested 30-year-old Andres K. Greenwell of Cannelburg.  Greenwell is charged with possession of meth, marijuana and paraphernalia, and with driving while suspended with a prior.  No bond was set.
