Willis “Bunny” Lengacher

 

Willis “Bunny” Lengacher, 77, passed away Wednesday at Millers Merry Manor. He was born in Daviess County on June 15, 1938, to Henry Lengacher and Sarah (Wagler) Lengacher. Willis was an x-ray technician for Union Hospital for over 36 years; was a member of Crossroads Community Church and a volunteer for the Sullivan County 4-H Fairgrounds. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister Katie.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years Betty (Elsey) Lengacher, whom he married Sept. 29, 1962; two daughters and their husbands Dee (Pat) Fulford, Teresa (Tim) Wilson, both of Sullivan; two brothers, Ezra and Henry Jr.; eight sisters, Rachel, Ida, Viola, Martha, Mary, Laura, Sarah Mae and Rosie; three grandchildren, Elizabeth (Nathan) Wible, Britney Riggs and Kyle Wilson; two stepgrandchildren, Logan Fulford and Samantha Fulford; two great-grandchildren, Madilynn Wible and Carter Wible; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services for Willis will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holmes Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Eddie Hammond officiating. Visitation will be Friday 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Center Ridge Cemetery. The family suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the SHS Class of ‘82 charitable fund, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
