Hazel Ellen Reed, 84, of Montgomery

Hazel Ellen Reed, age 84, of Montgomery, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Washington Nursing Center.

She was born January 30, 1932 in Plainville to Jennie (Ferguson) and Rector Burton.

She was 1950 Epsom High School graduate and she was a recipient of the American Legion Award. She worked at Barr-Reeve Intermediate School for 28 ½ years. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting and played the piano and organ. She attended St. Peter Catholic Church.
Hazel married Floyd Reed on December 14, 1952 and he passed August 4, 1998.
She is survived by son, Allen Reed of Montgomery, daughters; Brenda Spaulding of Washington and Jan (Terry) Grove of Montgomery, three grandchildren; Jackson Spaulding, Amy Reed and Christina Reed, brother Roy “Bud” (Pat) Burton of Montgomery and a sister, Opal Miles of Washington.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Reed, five brothers; Lloyd Burton, Hobert Burton, Hasly Burton, Carl Burton, Chester Burton, and four sisters; Lois Wilson, Lucille Burton, Thelma Claunch, and Cathy Clark.
Funeral services will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Ed Lee Mortuary with burial following in Sugarland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 – 8 pm at Ed Lee Mortuary.
