She was born on September 5, 1924 in Valonia, IN to the late Walter G. and Albertina (Praetorius) Lobeck.
She graduated from Washington High School. She was married to Ray Sumner until his passing and later married Floyd Harner. She worked at Daviess County Hospital as Patient Accounts Manager. Jane was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Jane is survived by her children R. Michael Sumner (Karen), Sandra L. Sumner, Ray L. Sumner Jr (Eva); grandchildren Scott Sumner (Lisa), Michael Sumner, Kelly Kelley (Cliff), Ryan Sumner, 7 great grandchildren; and siblings Nancy Johnson, and John Lobeck.
The funeral service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1002 ½ NE 6th Street, Washington, IN 47501 on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 11:00am with visitation an hour prior to service. Pastor Christopher Byars will be officiating. Internment will be held following the funeral service at Oak Grove Cemetery of Washington.
