William “Bill” Harder running for Treasurer

William “Bill” Harder of Washington has announced his candidacy for Daviess County Treasurer on the Democratic Ticket.

In his announcement he says he graduated from Lockyear College with an Associate Degree in Business Management and Accounting.  He retired after 30 years with the United States Postal Service as a Letter Carrier. Harder has been active in several local organizations. He has served as Treasurer for the Sons of the American Legion, Eagles Lodge #414, Abate of Indiana, Daviess-Martin Bowling Association USBC as well as the Commercial Bowling League.

Harder volunteers at Daviess Community Hospital and is the Legislative Liaison for the DCH Auxiliary.  He says he feels his service to the community of Washington as well as work within the community organizations qualifies him for the job.  He says if given the opportunity he’ll be a watchdog for the taxpayers of Daviess County.
