21 States, including Indiana, involved in today’s national EAS Test

 

Indiana is one of 21 states participating in the largest to date test of the Emergency Alert System today.

Daviess County Emergency Management Director, Paul Goss, says the test gets underway at about 2:30

 

The test is voluntary by broadcasters and will be similar to the monthly EAS tests that the public sees on a regular basis and will be available to radio stations and broadcast and cable television.

 

Goss says the test iss expected to last approximately one minute and will verify the delivery and broadcast of a national test message and assess the readiness for thre distribution of a national-level test message.

 

The test includes  21 states, 2 territories, and the District of Columbia and again will be at 2:30m today.
