A Huntingburg resident was killed in a three vehicle accident at 7 last night on US 231 south of Witz Road between Jasper and Huntingburg.
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department reports that 39-year-old Sameer C. Metha driving a Chevy Tracker was south and hit a patch of ice on the bridge. The Tracker lost control and hit a northbound Toyota Tundra head on. The Tundra was driven by 36-year-old Jeremy Brewer of Huntingburg. The third vehicle was a Chevy Impala driven by Michael Carie and it rear ended the Tundra.
Metha died at the scene, Brewer suffered a leg injury and Carie was unharmed in the crash. All the drivers had to be extricated. Weather was considered a factor in the accident which is still under investigation.
