Accidents and incidents

Authorities respond to a number of accidents and crime reports on Saturday and Sunday

 

-There were some car/deer accidents over the weekend.  There were no injuries in the accidents reported at 4658 North State Road 57, and on Highway 231 north of Odon and on County Road 550-south.

-Emergency crews were called to the 83 mile marker in the northbound lanes of I69 at 3:28 Saturday afternoon.  A white pickup was located upside down.  There were no injuries.

-Authorities responded to a vehicle that was in a ditch on 900 East at the bridge near Graber Post on Sunday.  No one was around the vehicle.  The investigation continues.

-The Washington Fire Department was dispatched to 320 Southeast 7th Street for a smoking stove.  The call went out at 3:36 on Saturday afternoon. There was no damage reported and firemen were only on scene for a few minutes.

-There was a report of a theft of gasoline at the Chuckles on 5th Street Saturday. An older model mustang drove away without paying for over $15.00 in gasoline.

-Saturday at 2 Washington Police investigated a reported home burglary at 116 East Main.  There was forced entry into the rear of the residence.  A pair of Air  Jordan shoes and a video game pistol were reported taken.

-Saturday night at just after 11 a person reported their vehicle broken into while parked behind the American Legion.  A backpack with a wallet, clothes and a textbook was taken.
