Marjorie M. Vories, 82, of Monroe City

Marjorie M. Vories, 82, of Monroe City passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was born on September 3, 1933 in Knox County to Delbert and Goldie (Donovan) McCord.
Marjorie was a banking manager for 43 years at various banks before she retired on June 30, 2004. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church for many years and Eastern Star. She was a fantastic cook and loved to bake. Anytime the family was together for a holiday or family function she enjoyed cooking the dinner and considered all of her friends as family.
Survivors include her husband, C.B. Vories, whom she married January 18, 1952 and spent 64 happy years together; her sons; Maurice “Bud” Vories and his wife Sue of Vincennes, Dave Vories and his wife Pam of Monroe City, Mark Vories and his wife Brenda of Monroe City; sisters, Ora Harris of Sturgis, Michigan, Jeannie McAllister and her husband Bob of Vincennes; grandchildren, Matt Vories, Andy Vories, Josh Vories, Travis Vories, Danielle Garner; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Maurice and Ed McCord; and her grandson Justin Vories in 1989.
Funeral Services for Marjorie will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, January 25, 2016 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Parman officiating. Burial will follow in the Wildwood cemetery. Friends may visit from 2-7 pmSunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Monroe City Blue Jean Center or the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
