Corporal Doane of the DNR receives award Saturday

Indiana Conservation Officer, Corporal Eric Doane, who serves in Martin County, was recognized over the weekend for what’s described as his unwavering and continuing dedication to the citizens of Martin County

Doane was given an award by  Martin County Sheriff Travis Rousch and the Martin County Safe Community Campaign.

The award was given for an event spearheaded by Doane designed for law enforcement to build positive relationships in their community and raise food and money for three food banks in Martin County.  Around $3,000 dollars and 9,000 food items were collected at the event.

Corporal Doane has also been a 4H shooting sports instructor for both archery and muzzle-loading. He teaches a wilderness survival class at Vincennes University, is a NASP instructor,

Corporal Doane grew up in Martin County in the small town of Dover Hill near Shoals, Indiana. He attended Shoals High School and graduated in 1988. After High School Corporal Doane attended Vincennes University for Conservation Law and was hired by the DNR Law Enforcement Division in 1992.
