The Knox County Sheriff’s Department and the Coroner’s office are conducting a preliminary investigation into the death of an 8-year-old child. At 9:26 am Wednesday Knox County Central Dispatch received a report of an 8-year-old child not breathing. Officers from the Knox County Sheriff’s Department and Vincennes City Police along with Vincennes City and Vincennes Township Fire Departments and Knox County E-M-S responded to the scene and CPR was administered. The child was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital. Knox County Coroner Brian Hagen says the child died at 9:54 am.
