Alcohol and battery arrests reported, a fire in Odon leaves a man injured, several property damage accidents occurred on Friday…

ARRESTS

-Indiana State Police took 49-year-old Frank Sloan of Washington into custody last night.  Sloan is charged with operating while intoxicated.

-Washington City Police arrested 22-year-old Jonathan Abrego of Washington early this morning.  He was jailed just before 2-am for domestic battery.

-Sheriff’s Department logs show that two male juveniles were taken into custody after the boys allegedly were inside a car at a Loogootee address on Highway 50 at about 11:35 last night.  The property owner caught one of suspects and called police who located the other male.  Both were taken into custody by Loogootee Police.


 

FIRE

One person was injured in a Friday morning fire at Daviess County Road 675 North.  The Odon Madison and Cannelburg Fire Departments were called to the Verlon Graber residence about 7:30-am.   A fire in the home caused smoke damage.  The blaze was out when firemen arrived.  Graber was taken to the hospital in Vincennes with burns to the leg.


 

ACCIDENTS AND INCIDENTS

Several property damage accidents were reported on Friday. 

At 7:45am , authorities were called to 1200-east and Highway 50 for a one vehicle accident with no injuries.  The vehicle was towed.

At just before 8-am three vehicles were in a chain reaction crash in front of Subway on Business 50 in Washington.

At 1:15-pm, a Jeep and a car crashed at 57 and Cumberland Drive.

At just after 9-pm there was a report of  Ford Taurus that missed a turn and rove into a ditch at 500-east and 1200-north.


 

PLAY AUDITIONS

Local auditions for parts in the world premiere of “Alice of Old Vincennes: A Musical,” will be Feburary 7 at , 2 p.m. at the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center on the Vincennes University Campus.

Potential performers must be available for rehearsals and performances from May 8 to June 5. Directors are looking for actors and singers of all types for major roles as well as ensemble parts.

Performers should prepare 16-32 bars of a musical theatre song and must also bring sheet music for an accompanist or a pre-recorded CD. They must also prepare a 1- to 2-minute monologue.

Those who are unable to attend the audition may send a video that includes at least 32 bars of a musical theatre song and a 1- to 2-minute monologue. Video auditions may be sent electronically to James Spurrier at jjimspurrier@gmail.com.

“Alice of Old Vincennes: will be performed May 27-29 and June 3-5 at the Skelton Center.
