Marcia Kay Courtney, 77, of Odon, Indiana, went to Heaven peacefully on Monday, January 4, 2016. She was born on June 24, 1938 in Elnora, Indiana to Dick and Carrie Alice (Noel) Smeltzer. Marcia married Earl L. Courtney, Jr. on June 30, 1956.
Marcia was a member of the Elnora Christian Church and Order of Eastern Star, Elnora Chapter. She worked at Wickes Lumber Co. for 20 years and has worked at the Odon Journal for several years.
Survivors include: her husband, Earl Courtney, Jr.; one son, Marc Courtney of Elnora; one daughter, Shelly (Larry) Beckman of Odon; seven grandchildren, Paula Niebert, Amanda Hurst, Wesley Bays, Courtney DeMeulenaere, Allison Beckman, Kylie Wolf and Caleb Beckman; eleven great-grandchildren and one sister, Ann Deifeil of Texas.
Marcia was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Debbie Wilkin.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Friday, January 8, 2016 at Elnora Christian Church with Rev. Dick Smith officiating. Marcia will be laid to rest in Elnora Fairview Cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 7 at the Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Friday at the church.
The family has requested that memorial contributions can be made to the Elnora Christian Church or Ketcham Memorial Center in memory of Marcia. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at the church.
