Leland “Junior” Brady, 91, of Plainville, IN

Leland “Junior” Brady, 91, of Plainville, IN, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, January 6, 2016. 

Leland was born on May 13, 1924 to Leland Charles and Emma (Donaldson) Brady in Washington, IN. 

He attended Washington Schools. On March 31, 1946, he married Alice Marie (Browning) Brady. They were married until she passed on October 6, 1995. He was a WWII Army Veteran. He worked as a baker at Ted’s Pastry Shop on Main Street for 22 years before he retired. He was a member of First Christian Church. He was also a member of the American Legion, and enjoyed playing cards, fishing, golfing, hunting, and playing checkers.

Leland is survived by his current wife Marilyn (Miller) Brady, daughters Carol Brady of Washington, IN, Judy Clements of Washington, IN, and Dixie Miller of Washington, IN; 4 step children, Marsha Smith, Julie Guthrie, Jason Yoder, and Gary Yoder; 6 grandchildren, Brian Stinnett, Jason (Jennifer) Barnes, Stacey (Brandon) Brumfield, Andrea (David) Martin, Jacob (Brittany) Clark, Jeremy (Nicki) Clark; 11 step grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 5 great step grandchildren; and sister Mildred (Ken) Wake of Satsuma, FL. He is preceded by his 1st wife, Alice (Browning) Brady; his parents; sister Rosetta Riggs of Terre Haute, IN; and brother Bernard E. Brady of Satsuma, FL.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 8, 2016 at Gill Chapel from 12:00-2:00pm. A funeral service will be held following the visitation at 2pm with Pastor Terry Fletcher and Jeremy Clark officiating. Leland will be laid to rest in Oak Grove Cemetery where there will be Military Graveside Honors by the American Legion and the V.F.W. Online condolences may be made to www.gillsince1872.com.
