State Road 358 west of Plainville and Old Vincennes Road or, Daviess County Road 150 North west of 300-east are closed due to flooding.
257 south of Washington is open but expected to close later this week as the river waters continue to rise due to the recent heavy rains.
The National Weather Service Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service reports that the White at Edwardsport is currently at 18.5 feet, which is 3.5 feet above flood stage. It’s expected to reach 21.4 feet over the weekend.
At Petersburg the White is at 19.75 feet and will continue to rise to over 23 feet by next Tuesday. Flood stage at Petersburg is 16 feet.
The Wabash at Vincennes is nearing 18 feet and will rise to 23.3 by Monday. Flood stage is 16 feet. The river is more than a mile wide at the Red Skelton Bridge.
The Embarras River at Lawrenceville is around 37 feet which is 7 feet above flood stage. It’s forecast to reach 41.5 feet by Friday before starting to fall.
