Deloris Yvonne Purdy, 85 of Washington went to her heavenly home on December 21, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 11, 1930 to Alvin and Eloise Simmons in Washington, In. She graduated from Washington High School and was a member of the First Christian Church. Deloris loved to spend her time volunteering and was a member of the Daviess Community Hospital Auxiliary for over 25 years. Deloris loved to watch Indy Car Racing and the Indianapolis 500.
She is survived by her sons, Kevin Anderson (Doris) and Tim Purdy; her grandchildren Joe Myers, Teresa Armstrong (Joe); two great- children; her sisters Brenda Osborne (Don), Judy Glosser (Gerald), Kay Morris, Patricia Hyde; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers; Brayton Simmons, Freddy Joe Simmons, Alvin Russell Simmons Jr., and her sisters; Iva Turner, Deborah Wysinger, Jo Ann Smith, and Jereline Fleming. A Celebration of Life will be held at Gill Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 from 10 am – 1 pm. Memorials contributions can be made to Daviess Community Hospital Auxiliary.
