Francis “Frank” Dant passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 28, 1928 in Washington to the late Logan Dant and Mabel (Riggins) Dant.
Frank was a 1946 graduate of Loogootee High School. He married Joann (Montgomery) Dant and was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. Frank was employed in Indianapolis a short while after graduating, then returned to work at Common Wealth Electric. After Common Wealth Electric closed their doors, Frank started his own business, B&D Electric. Frank was a 60 year member of the I.B.E.W. When Frank had spare time he enjoyed playing pool and gardening.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Joann Dant; one son, Joseph Dant; 3 sisters, and 5 brothers.
Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Boley (Richard); a granddaughter, Sarah Williams-Marinelli; 2 great grand-children, Caitlyn and Conner Williams-Marinelli.
Visitation will be held at Gill Funeral Home on Saturday, December, 19, 2015 from 4pm until 8pm. There will be a funeral service on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at 2 pm, Miss Yvonne Evans officiating, with visitation an hour prior also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Goodwill Cemetery in Loogootee, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 208 S. LaSalle St., Suite 1500 Chicago, IL 60604-1242.
