Accident reports were completed on Wednesday concerning a Tuesday crash north of Washington involving Steve Cox of the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department.
State Police report that Cox was driving the Sheriff’s Department’s 2008 Suburban south on 57, while 58 year old Terry D. Shafer of Plainville was also south in an ’02 Dodge Ram. Shafer had passed a vehicle and stopped to turn left into Meyer’s Transportation. The accident reports say the Suburban hit the pickup in the rear.
Cox was taken to the hospital in Vincennes and then flown to Louisville for cuts and bruises and a broken arm. Shafer was treated at Daviess Community Hospital for minor facial injuries.
The crash investigation continues.
