Some residents in the Evansville area reported seeing fireballs in the sky on Thursday night. According to WEHT, a number of people called in saying they saw fire in the sky and felt the ground shaking. Reports of activity were found as far west at St. Louis. The American Meteor Society says there has been a record number of fireball reports in the past few weeks, and that there were probably part of the Taurid meteor shower.
