The Daviess County Council on Thursday approved an appropriation of $100,000 from the county cumulative bridge fund for the repairs to the White River Bride on Old Vincennes Road.

The total project cost 1.8 million with most being paid for through a state grant.  The hundred thousand is Daviess County’s match for the grant.  Knox County has also approved a match of 100 thousand dollars.

Work should start next spring on the historic bridge linking the two counties that has been in disrepair for a long time.

Work will include replacing steel and changing the approaches on both sides.
