VU student shot by high powered pellet gun

A Vincennes University student was injured after being shot by a high powered pellet gun Wednesday night.

In  a VU-E-Alert, officials say it happened just before 8-pm when a male student was skateboarding along Indianapolis Avenue near the Clark Hall crosswalk. A passing car traveling west on Indianapolis slowed down as a rear passenger lowered the window and used a high-powered pellet gun to shoot at the student. The unnamed victim was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment.

The shooter was described by witnesses as an African-American male wearing a plain black t-shirt.  The vehicle was describes as an early 2000’s model black or blue Chevy Impala or Malibu with tinted windows.

The incident remains under investigation by VU Police.
