WASHINGTON/ODON/ELNORA RESULTS

 

In a light turnout on a Muncipal Election day, Republicans managed to hold onto the their District 5 seat on the Washington City Council by 4 votes.

Sierra Decker, the daughter of current council member Jerry Sidebottom won over Democrat Bill Walton 185 to 181 votes.

Decker talked to us after learning of her win and says she’s looking forward to serving..

In the only other race in town, Republican Jason Petty and Democrat Blake Chambers held onto their At Large seats.  Petty finished with 39%, Chambers with 31% and the challenger Republican Grant Stafford had 29%.

Chambers commented on some issues he sees ahead in the his next 4 years..

Elsewhere in the county, in Odon, the Town Clerk Election went to Beth Haseman over Heather Ruhe. Haseman had 58% of the votes.  In the Odon Town Council race the two winners were James Riggins and Chuck Krieg.  In Elnora there was a 4 person council race the top 3 get into office and they were Kevein Hostettler, Jesse Emmons and Deanna Callison.

 

 


 

 

 

VINCENNES RESULTS

Vincennes will have a new clerk-treasurer come January 1st. Democrat Sharon Duke defeated two other challengers including the current office holder to win election to the office. Duke received 994 votes, Republican Randy Crismore received 866 votes and David Culp the Incumbent received 691 votes. Culp, a long time Democrat decided in the spring to run as an independent candidate as opposed to facing Duke in the primary.

Duane Chattin and Shirley Rose retained their at large seats on the Vincennes City Council. The Democratic Incumbents were the top two vote getters holding off challenges from Republicans Michael Woods and Ryan Lough. Chatting received 1352 votes while Rose had 1180.

Two other incumbents on the city council lost their bid for a second four year term. Democrat Chuck Sebring lost in District One to Republican Brian Grove by 40 votes. Grove talked to us about what’s next..

In City Council District four….Democrat Dan Ravellette unseated Incumbent Ashley Morris winning by 139 votes.  Ravellette said he enjoyed his campaign..

Republican Tim Salters retained his seat on the council defeating democratic challenger Tim Thompson by 245 votes.

 

 


 

 

BICKNELL RESULTS

 

In Bicknell….Democrat Thomas Estabrook defeated Ray Hooten for Bicknell Mayor. Estabrook received 507 votes to Hooten’s 193 votes.

Bicknell Clerk-Treasurer Becky McGlone defeaqted Republican Challenger Sandra Campbell to receive a second term in office.

Democrat Wally Cullen Defeated three other contenders for the at large seat on the Bicknell City Council. Cullen received 247 votes, Republican Aaron Boulard was second with 203 votes.

In Bicknell City Council District 1….Republican Rod Mullins beat Democrat Rick Hagen by 205 votes.

In Bicknell City Council District 2….Republican Incumbent Butch Byrer won re-election beating Matthew Brough and Independent candidate Stacy Allen

And in Bicknell City Council District 4 Republican John Vendes defeated Democrat Michael Whitson and Independent Candidate Randy Rasner.

 

 


 

 

 

OAKTOWN/SANDBORN/WHEATLAND

 

In the outlying towns in Knox County, in Oaktown, the town clerk race when to Democrat Peggy Blann who had over 68% of the votes.

In Sandborn the Clerk race went to Republican Dana Wright who had nearly 67% of the town’s votes. For Sandborn Town Council the three top vote getters in the 4 person race were Republicans Glen Apple and Lori Gonzalez and Democrat  Nate Yagle.

In Wheatland the town clerk election went to Democrat Angie Elkins who finished with over 73% of the vote.

In Bruceville there was a 4 person council race and the top three winners were Andrew Steffy a Republican, and Democrats Howard Lanam and Daniel Potts.

 


 

 

PETERSBURG RESULTS

In Petersburg all the incumbents held onto their seats without much problem.

Republican Mayor RC Klipcsh won over Democrat challenger Stacy Mosby 67 to 33%.

Council members Democrats Fran Lewis and Bertie Jenkins and Republican  John Melhiser handily won their races and all will remain in office.

 

 


 

LOOGOOTEE RESULTS

 

Only one race in Loogootee.  Democrat Roger Downy won the City Council At Large election over Republican Marty Tarrh.  Downy had 70% of the 68 votes cast.

 


 

JASPER RESULTS

A three person Mayoral race in Jasper ended in a tie.  Republican Mayor Terry Seitz and Republican Challenger Wayne Schuetter (sheeter) both finished with 1856 votes each or 47.57%. The third person, Independent  Joshua Budd had 190 votes or 4.87%.

 

 


STATE RESULT SUMMARY

 

 

Incoming Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett says he want to cast aside the despair of violence in the city. The city’s former top federal prosecutor easily won election Tuesday after a campaign during which he called for the hiring of additional police officers to combat crime. Hogsett will replace two-term Republican Mayor Greg Ballard.

Evansville voters are giving their mayor another four years. Unofficial results show Republican Lloyd Winnecke had 62 percent of the vote over Democratic state Representative Gail Riecken. Winnecke’s campaign highlighted major downtown projects he’s backed.

It looks like the mayor of Terre Haute will hold onto his job with a narrow victory over the older brother of Basketball Hall of Famer Larry Bird, if unofficial results stand.   Republican Mayor Duke Bennett sinished with  52 percent of the vote, compared with 48 percent for Democratic Vigo County Councilman Mark Bird.

Democrats won comfortably in Fort Wayne and overwhelmingly in Gary, Hammond, East Chicago, South Bend, Lafayette and Bloomington.
