Donna F. Bateman, 71, passed away Wednesday at the Freelandville Community Home with her brother and members of her church family at her bedside. She was born May 15, 1944, in Vincennes, the daughter of James Arthur and Josephine Irene Baker Bateman. She was a graduate of Freelandville High School and she retired from Thompson Consumer Electronics/RCA. She was an active and faithful member of the Church of God in Bicknell. She was a devoted daughter, sister and friend. Her pleasant and playful demeanor was uplifting to anyone she met.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel, with Rev. Alice Bline and Rev. Fred Harrison officiating. She will be laid to rest with her parents at a later date. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Freelandville Community Home.
