An Alabama woman involved in a police chase in July in Daviess and Martin Counties has now been officially charged with murder in connection with an Alabama homicide.
30-year-old Candie Zito who has been incarcerated at the Daviess County Security Center, and a cousin, 26-year-old Cory Lane Zito were spotted in a vehicle in July that local authorities were told to be on the lookout for After being confronted by police in Montgomery, the two sped away in their vehicle east on 50 and crashed east of Shoals.
The Washington Times Herald reports that Zito was charged with murder this week in the early July homicide of Anthony Gibson in Leed, Alabama.. Local authorities are awaiting officers from Shelby County, Alabama to come and get Zito and transport her back to Alabama to face the charges.
Cory Zito had already been extradited back to Alabama on domestic battery and other charges.
