MONROE CITY FESTIVAL 1

The Monroe City Fall Festival kicks off it’s four day run tonight at the Blue Jeans Community Center on Main Street.

Spokeswoman Marlis Day says the Fall Festival offers a wide variety of activities food and entertainment. She says a new event this year will be an “Antiques Roadshow” taking place Saturday afternoon from 1-to-4 pm.

Also on Saturday will be the Annual Knox County’s Got Talent Show at 7 pm followed by Fireworks. Tonight’s schedule of events includes a chicken and noodle dinner from 5-to-7 pm.

At 7, the Queen and Baby Contest takes place in the gymnasium.

Proceeds from the Fall Festival help pay to operate the Blue Jeans Center.


 

 

 

FOOTBALL GOLF OUTING

 

     A golf outing that will hopefully become a yearly tradition is this Saturday to benefit the Washington Football program.

     Spokesperson Mickey White says it’s this Saturday at the Washington Country Club with registration at 7 and a shotgun start at 8.  The cost he says is 50 dollars…

SCOTLAND FESTIVAL

 

The annual Scotland festival is this Saturday in the community Scotland in Greene County.

Opening ceremonies are at 10:30.There’ll country and gospel music from the Vandeventer Family at noon.  High Sierra plays in the afternoon and Pierce and Family will have more live music around 3-pm.

In addition there’s a coin toxx competition, a cake walk, a raffle, kids games and lots of homemade and ice cream and cobblers.
