$400,000 in grant money will pay to get the courthouse ADA compliant

Daviess County has received a $400,000 grant to make ADA accessibility improvements to the Daviess County Courthouse.

The grant money comes from the Public Facilities Program through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development and administered by the  Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.

State Senator Eric Bassler of Washington said the grant is imperative in making the improvements and improving access for the disabled will be a positive investment.  State Representative Mike Braun of Jasper meanwhile, commended the county and all who worked together to make the grant possible.

The project will include a new ADA accessible entrance, and address curbing, paring, signage and elevator issues to make the courthouse compliant with the American with Disabilities Act.
