A major break in the murder investigation of a Sullivan County woman.  Sullivan County Sheriff Clark Cottom says that Indiana State Police and DNR dive teams took to the waters of Lake Sullivan Wednesday and Thursday and discovered a cell phone that investigators believe is the phone belonging to murder victim Tiffanie Adams.

The phone was especially important to investigators as police believe Tiffanie’s killer used this same phone to text his wife just prior to the murder.  Police believe Tiffanie also placed distress calls from this same phone a short time later, as she was being attacked. The phone has been sent to the Indiana State Police laboratory for extensive forensic examination.

Tiffanie was last seen in Sullivan, Indiana on November 5th, 2014, leaving her father’s house on foot. She had been en route to her mother’s house, less than a block away. Her step-brother, Jonas Orr was arrested in January, and awaits trial on two counts of murder.  Forensic Pathologist Dr. Roland Kohr determined Tiffanie died from asphyxiation caused by strangulation.  She was nearly eight months pregnant at the time of her murder.
