Phyllis Jean Patterson, 93, passed away at 8:55 p.m. Tuesday at Legends Village of Washington.
Born Oct. 2, 1921, in Carbondale, she was the daughter of Charles “Chas” Arthur and Velma Louise (Rendleman) Keith.
She attended college for two years and managed rental property. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Carbondale, Alpha Gamma Delta SIU, Amateur Garden Club of Carbondale, Antique Club, a charter member of the Hospitality Sunday School class, and enjoyed painting.
She is survived by a cousin, Jake Rendleman (Carolyn), and close friends Steven and Karen Boyd and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Debbie Jean Stephens.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Gill Funeral Home, with Rev. Richard Smith officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.
Preferred memorials are to the Heart Foundation, Alzheimer’s Association, or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
