Land sale for solar farm moves a step forward

The Washington City Council approved the sale of city owned property on the west side of the City’s Sanitation Department to the Indiana Municipal Power Agency.    The Agency plans to locate a solar energy panel “farm” on the property.  The sale is pending an easement to allow the City access to sewer and water lines on the west side of the property.     The sale price of the property is $4100.

The city council last night also passed several ordinances dealing with employees pay for 2016.  On the whole the ordinances give the city employees an average raise of 3.47%
