Some last minute personnel changes were taken care of by the Washington School Board Monday night before the start of school today.
At a special meeting, the board received resignations from Junior High Art Teacher Kari Schwinghammer and Alternative Education Assistant Tina Himsel. Jennifer Smith was appointed as an alternative education assistant after October 5th. Smith will fill a maternity leave through October 2nd.
In other moves, John Gere resigned as 8th Grade Football Coach. Kevin Godrey was appointed to that position.
Wes Taylor resigned as Assistant High School Boys Tennis Coach. Nathan Wildrige was appointed to that post.
The Board also approved Mickey White as a 7th grade football volunteer.
The Board approved the appointments of teachers Kyle Gregory and Jesse Davis.
Board also approved a request for the high school band to participate in band day at Purdue University on September 11.
