James Robert “Pappy” Edwards

James Robert “Pappy” Edwards, 84, of Washington, passed away Saturday at 10:58 p.m. at The Villages at Oakridge.

He was born May 3, 1931, to Robert James and Helen (Beckett) Edwards.

Jim was a lifelong resident of Washington. He was an avid bowler, roller skater and water skier and a “Hatchet Super Fan”. He was the best father and grandfather. He was loving, kind and caring. He always had a beautiful smile, silly face or funny joke. He will be missed. He was retired as a sub-contractor in flooring and was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years.

Jim was survived by his wife, Joan (Evans) Edwards of 45 years, whom he married Aug. 8, 1970; daughters, Jeannine (Fred) Resler, Eva (Dane) Ebler, Marianne Harner, and Lori D. Young, all of Washington; sons, Michael James (Nidia) Edwards of Gulf Port, Mississippi, Steven L. Edwards, and Robert F. Edwards, both of Washington; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

There will be no services. Ed Lee Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
