Deloris “Ann” Brown

Deloris “Ann” Brown, 77, of Washington, passed away Monday at 3:58 p.m. at Daviess Community Hospital.

She was born Aug. 3, 1937, in Washington, to Lylian “Dale” (Bledsoe) and Carl Cottee.

She was a Washington High School graduate and attended Indiana State University and Evansville Beauty College. She worked as a CNA at Prairie Village. Most recently she worked as a teacher at Head Start. She really loved to cook for everyone.

She is survived by five children; sons David (Susie) Brown of Washington, Carl (Cathy) Brown, Sydney L. Brown of Washington, Phillip Brown Sr. of Evansville, and a daughter, Della Shew of Phoenix, Arizona; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of Ann’s life will be at Antioch Christian Church on Thursday at 5 p.m., with Pastor Yolonda Granger Bostic officiating. Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Antioch Christian Church. Burial will be at a later date.
