Be careful in this heat

Health Care professionals are advising Hoosiers to take it easy this weekend. Temperatures are expected in the mid to upper 90s coupled with high humidity to make it feel a lot hotter.

Officials says the key to staying safe in this type of heat is Water, Rest and Shade. Drink plenty of water and avoid carbonated or alcoholic bevearages

When working outdoors try to avoid activities during the hottest portion of the day. If that’s not possible try take plenty of breaks. Its also a good idea to check on friends and family members who may not have air conditioning.

The first signs of heat illness include a throbbing headache, dizziness or light-headedness, lack of sweating despite the heat, rapid heartbeat, nausea or vomiting.
