Delbert “Bill” Mundy, 79, of Washington, was called home to meet his Lord on Wednesday after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Nov.9, 1935, in Bicknell, to Delbert and Beulah (Beaman) Mundy. Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Marines. He married Jane (Wininger) Mundy on Oct.14, 1961, and she survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Keith (Sherri) Mundy of Florence, Kentucky, Greg (Lori) Mundy of Washington; five grandchildren, Brandon Mundy, Audra Mundy, Michael Mundy, Amber Garcia, Rebecca Criswell; two great-grandchildren, Harmony Garcia and Lyric Garcia; two brothers, Don (Linda) Mundy, Gary (Lynn) Mundy, and David (Wilma) Wininger all of Bicknell; and a brother-in-law, John Albrecht of Washington.

Preceding him in death are his parents and a sister, Nancy (John) Albrecht.

Bill was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and strong in his faith. Bill and Jane owned and operated H and R Block in Washington and Petersburg for the last 31 years and worked for them for 41 years.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Ed Lee Mortuary and from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church Monday. Funeral services will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. at the Washington Church of Christ with Christopher Wiles officiating. Burial will follow in Bicknell Memorial Cemetery.
