The Southern Indiana Development Commission conducted the hearing on Daviess County’s grant application to assist with funding for the ADA rehabilitation project at the Court House.   The just over $520,000 project will make the Court House ADA compliant and will focus on the east side entrance and ADA compliant drinking fountains, restrooms, and the elevator.  As part of the grant application, the Commissioners also passed an amendment to upgrade the County’s Fair Housing Ordinance.

At the request of County Treasurer Elaine Wellman, and Auditor Patty Ball, the Commissioners approved two additional financial licenses to the Harris Open Windows program for the Auditor’s and Treasure’s offices, and approved a contract with American Financial Credit Services to collect delinquent personal property taxes.

In other business, the Commissioners approved a contract with Medi Tran Services and the County Health Department for disposal of needles, sharp objectss, and vials.

The Commissioners also approved a supplemental easement agreement to allow vendors to reach the Red Door facility through the old K-Mart parking lot.

County Highway Superintendent Phil Cornelius reported the county had six inches of rain in a four day span last week, and the Plainville area had nearly seven inches of rain in a four hour period Friday.

Cornelius said he expects to be working on road washouts throughout the week…
