Mary Beth “Butch” Plemens

Mary Beth “Butch” Plemens (Pinto), 75, passed away peacefully June 8th, 2015 in Jackson, Michigan.

 

She was born February 11, 1940 in Loogootee, IN the daughter of James and Jeanne Pinto.

 

Mary Beth grew up in Loogootee and spent much of her youth working for her mother at the Arrow Café.  She made many life-long friends working in the restaurant business.  Mary Beth graduated from St. Johns High School in 1958 and shortly thereafter married Ralph Plemens.  She enjoyed travel and lived in North Carolina, California and Hawaii before settling down in Loogootee in 1964.  Mary Beth loved flowers and pottery and opened up a store in her home in 1976. She also enjoyed following all of the sports that her children and grandchildren participated in.

 

She later married Bill Wilcoxen (Mitchell, IN) and they moved to Brookville, IN.  For the last several years, Mary Beth lived in Jackson, MI near her son Mark and his family.

 

Mary Beth is preceded in death by her infant son Jaime; parents, Jim and Jeanne Pinto and sister, Sally (Pinto) Roseman.

 

 

She is survived by her daughter, Lori (Tina) Plemens of St. Peter, MN; son, Mark (Penny) Plemens of Chelsea, MI; grandchildren, Madison, Emma, Joey and Lily Plemens-Schunk of St. Peter, MN and Ashley and Amber Plemens of Chelsea, MI; cousins, Lynn Gee of Loogootee, Von David Baker of Indianapolis and Linda Voger of Mooresville; one niece and several second cousins.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, officiated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery.
