Indiana Commissioner for higher education Teresa Lubbers will be in Washington on her “College Success Tour”.

She’ll be at East Side Park’s Community Building on Wednesday.

Just this week Daviess County was recognized as an Indiana College Success County for working on increasing the percentage of Hoosiers with education and training beyond high school.

Indiana currently ranks 40th nationally in both education attainment and personal per capita income.  The numbers are  linked to the fact that only a third of Hoosier adults have more than a highschool diploma. Indiana has set a goal of increasing the proportion of Hoosiers with a college credentials to 60 percent of the Hoosier population by the year 2025.

Wednesday’s summit  will consist of an interactive discussion between Commissioner Lubbers and those who attend.
