CAAA gets a new commander

Col. Jim Hooper took command of the Crane Army Ammunition Activity at the Crane Base in official change of command ceremonies at Crane.

His is the 17th commander relieving Col. Robert “Joe” Dixon who has been at the Crane Base for two years.

Hooper, is a distinguished graduate of the Army ROTC program at Lafayette College, was commissioned as an Ordnance Officer in 1992. He formerly served as the Chief of Staff of the First Theater Sustainment Command’s Operational Command Post located in Kuwait. Hooper just arrived back from Kuwait six weeks ago.

Hooper said he is extremely humbled and honored to be a part of the Joint Munitions Command in the CAAA.

After the ceremony, Brigadier General Kristen French commented on Col Dixon’s command by  praising him for his service. She said she admired the outgoing commander’s work ethic and his ability to solve problems within the internal Crane community, and with the large local community, surrounding and supporting Crane.
