Daviess County Council met today

The Daviess County Council  took care of several items today at their regular meeting.  The council approved tax abatement compliance reviews as well as an ordinance that meets changes required by the State of Indiana, adding a 10% excise surtax to small motorized cycles and automobiles.

The Council also heard  an additional appropriations request from Superior Court Judge Dean Sobecki for repairs to the courtroom’s bench.  Another request was from Boggs Parrk Superintendent Mike Axom to allow a reorganization of the parks staff.

In other business the Council reappointed Jo Arthur and Tyson Wagler as the Council’s representatives on the Daviess Community Hospital Board of Governors.

The Council set August 19 for budget hearings, and  September 9 and 10, for budget adoptions.
