Shirley J. (Frerich) Lewandowski, 71, of Washington, passed away at 5:45 p.m. Friday at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born June 21, 1943, in Little Falls, Minnesota, to Beatta (Blood) and William Frerich.

She graduated from Little Falls High School in 1961. She married John Lewandowski in Little Falls June 19, 1963. She worked at West Chicago Lake State Bank in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She also worked at Arnold’s Red and White and Knuckles BBQ. Shirley owned and operated Shirley’s Deli and Catering. The past 10 years she worked at Daviess Community Hospital in the dietary unit, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Shirley most of all enjoyed time with her family. She had the gift of kindness and love, not only for her family but for her friends, co-workers and even strangers. She was an amazing woman and will be missed dearly. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. Shirley also bowled on the Welcome Wagon league.

She is survived by her husband; three sons, Michael Lewandowski, Matthew Lewandowski, both of Washington, and Mitchell (Becky) Lewandowski of Plymouth; two daughters, Michelle (Steve) Potoczky of Plymouth, and Mandi Jo Lewandowski of Washington; grandchildren Jonas Lewandowski, Shaleigh (Jordan) Lewandowski, Brandon (Lindsay) Garland, Gracie Lewandowski, Hanna Reed, Gaven Bledsoe, Chase Lewandowski, Presley Lewandowski, Mayce Lewandowski, Hayle Lewandowski, Gunner Lewandowski, Brett Lewandowski, Nicole Lewandowski, Brianna (James) Letsinger, Kori Potoczky, Jennifer (Ryan) Maure, Joe (Ashley) Potoczky; great-grandchildren, Kaden Bouchie, Braxton Garland, Ellie and Owen Maure, Carson Lewandowski and Trent Lewandowski; sisters Dorothy Newman of Brainerd, Minnesota, Carol Wendland of Little Falls, Sylvia Stoner of Little Falls, Stella (John) Schwartzwald of Hamilton; brothers David (Lois) Frerich of Batavia, Illinois, Francis Frerich of Omaha, Nebraska, Harold (Barb) Frerich of Mora, Minnesota, and Ray (Mary) Frerich of Randall, Minnesota.

Preceding her in death are her parents; a son, Mark Lewandowski; a sister, Rose Ann Armstrong; and brothers, Arlin Frerich, Roland Freric, Eugene Frerich and Willis Frerich.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, with Rev. Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Washington.

Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Ed Lee Mortuary, with a wake service at 3:30 p.m.
