Spirit of Vincennes in it’s 39th year

rendezvous-1

The 39th Annual Spirit of Vincennes Rendezvous is this weekend behind the George Rodgers Clark Memorial. The event runs from 9 am to 6 pm on Saturday and 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday.

The popular event is one of the largest living history reenactments in the Midwest. Rendezvous marketing director Mark Hill says they will honor the buffalo that once roamed the area.

The event will feature live battlefield reenactments, wagon rides, storytellers, battlefield games, and period costumes. Booths will be set up to demonstrate early frontier skills such as candle dipping, wood making, and pottery.

Plenty of good food, such as buffalo burgers, will be a part of the weekends festivities plus some 18th century music.

A single day adult pass for the Rendezvous is $8 or $9 for both days. Children ages 5 and under are free. For more information go to www.spiritofvincennes.org
