KORY_COLEMAN_1431052744044_17988580_ver1.0_640_480 WASHINGTON, Ind. — An Indiana girl got the surprise of a lifetime Thursday when a Brownsburg man showed up at her door with a major surprise.

Kory Coleman ran more than 90 miles to raise enough money to send a 10-year-old girl he had never met to Disney World.

The idea started when Coleman took his own daughter to Disney World. She said it was magical and he knew right then that he wanted to give a young girl named Marli the same experience.

Marli unexpectedly lost her father a few months ago. He was a military veteran, and also Coleman’s friend.

Coleman made it his mission to surprise Marli. He raised the money by running three marathons in three weekends in three different states.

He set out to run the Carmel Marathon on April 18, the Kentucky Derby Marathon on April 25 and the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon on May 3 for a total of 78.6 miles.

However, after the second marathon, fundraising slowed down, so Coleman decided to throw in a fourth race and ran the Indianapolis Mini-Marathon to get the fundraiser going again.

He sent Marli his finisher medals after every race and even dropped some hints.

“One of these he wrote on the back. This one it says Marli 3 and a half of the way finished. Take care and get excited. It is magical,” Marli said.

Not only did Coleman succeed in the physical challenge, he also ended up raising more than $10,000 for Marli.

He spent the last three weeks looking forward to the moment he could meet Marli and surprise her with the great news.

Coleman said any money not used for the trip will be put into a fund for Marli to use later in life.
