Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of Christopher Melton of Vincennes.
39-year-old Robert Malone of Vincennes, 36-year-old Robert Hutchinson of Lawrenceville, Illinois and 55-year-old Jack Harris of Oblong, Illinois were arrested early Friday morning.
Vincennes Police Chief Dusty Luking says they believe Melton’s murder was drug related.

Nearly a week long investigation in both Indiana and llinois led investogators to conduct multiple inteviews and the recovery of evidence which indentified those arrested.
The 55-year-old Melton was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head in his apartment last Saturday.
Luking wouldn’t comment on whether police have recovered the murder weapon yet.

 

Luking acknowledged  City Detectives along with law enforcement agencies in Lawrence and Richland Counties in Illinois assisted in identifying the three suspects.

 

Malone, Hutchinson and Harris are being held without bond on preliminary charges of murder in the Knox County Jail.
