One man dies when a boat capsizes

A Bloomfield area man has died after a boat capsized in Monroe County.

Conservation officers report that accident happened at 2:30 on Friday on Lake Lemon.

Three Greene County men were fishing on a 16 foot flat bottom boat when it capsized in the wake of a larger pontoon boat.  All three men went into the water and officers say that due to pre-existing medical conditions, 65-year-old John Scharbrough had difficulty breathing and became unresponsive.  A boater in the area assisted in getting all three men ashore and CPR was started on Sharbrough.  He was taken to IU Health in Bloomington in critical condition and pronounced dead at 5-pm.

The other two men, 44-year-old Robert Johnson and 75-year-old William Cox from Bloomfield were not injured.
