Earth Day to be celebrated on Saturday

Local residents and volunteers will celebrate Earth Day tomorrow at East Side Park in Washington.  Earth Day was actually Wednesday but a  plethera of activity will take place tomorrow to mark the day meant to bring awareness to the environment.

The day will be the kick off to the city’s newest cleaning campaign as called Team Up to Clean Up.  It was created by the Washington Arts and Flowers Garden Club, The Chamber of Commerce and Daviess County Open Market.  It features a monthly citywide cleanup.  The innaugurual event features 17 teams.

In addition to that there’ll be an E-waste and a drug take back event.

There’s stuff for the kids too.  They can learn how to make bird and butterfly feeders and enjoy some bounce houses.

The event runs 10 to 2 at the Community Building of East Side Park.
