Elsie J. Gray died Monday.

 

Elsie J. Gray, 83, of Washington, died at 11:30 p.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Health in Evansville.

Born April 24, 1931, in Covington, Kentucky, she was the daughter of John and Eunice (Stephenson) Kirby.

She had worked as a factory line worker at RCA in Bloomington.

She is survived by three sons, Richard “RT” (Chris) Tennis of Washington, Shane (Minda) Gray of Evansville, and Shawn (Kelley) Gray of Washington; a daughter, Meredyth (Eugene) Brown of Washington; three stepsons, Bob (Glenda) Gray of Mooresville, Ronnie Gray of Shoals and Gary Gray of Washington; three stepdaughters, Janice Ballard of Mooresville, Carolyn (Clark) Brown of Bedford, and Cheryl (Ed) Collins of Texas; seven grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; two brothers, James W. Kirby of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Daniel Kirby of Eugene, Oregon; and a sister, Mary Mann of Otwell.

Her husband, Robert Gray, preceded her in death. Also deceased is one sister, Dorothy Rowlings, and one grandson, Francis Tennis.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Poindexter-McClure Funeral Home, Washington Chapel, with Rev. Jim Russell officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Temple Baptist Church in Washington or Feed My Sheep.
