Conservation officers released details Monday of a Sunday Pike County ATV accident that happened at 5-pm on Oak Street in Velpen.
They report that 30-year-old Brandon Eilert of Velpen was west bound and following another ATV when it slowed and Eilert could not stop in time. Eilert was ejected and landed on the pavement and had to be airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville with internal injuries and head trauma.
Law enforcement says alcohol may have been a factor and protective gear was not being worn.
No other injuries were reported.
