Odon Sawmill has received the Indiana Tree Farm’s Logger of the Year award for 2014.
The Odon Journal reports the award was presented at the Indiana hardwood Lumberman’s Association annual meeting on March 11th in Indianapolis.
The award is presented every year to recognize outstanding logging operations in Indiana forests.
Owner of the sawmill, Gabe Swartzentruber was nominated by Thom Kinney Consulting Forester of Petersburg who told the Journal that Swartzentruber has logged a number of harvests which Kinney has marked for clients. Kinney called Swartzentruber an exemplory logger.
Odon Sawmill has been owned and operataed by Swartzentruber’s family for almost 30 years and produces 3 million board feet of logs annually.
